Present Simple

We use the present simple for facts, habits or repeated or regular actions

FORM:    [VERB] + s/es in third person

1- Add -S for most verbs [Works => Works]
2- Add -ES for words that end in -CH, -S, -SH, -X or -Z
Watch => Watches
Pass => Passes
Relax => Relaxes
Rush => Rushes
3- If the verb ends in consonant + Y, change the -Y to -IES [Study => Studies]
4- If the verb ends in vowel + Y, Add -S [Play => Plays]

Negative form:-

Doesn't/Don't+ [VERB]

He, She, It + Doesn't + Verb

I, You, We, They + Don't + Verb

Questions in The Present Simple:-

Do/Does + Subject + Verb + The rest of the sentence?


Examples:-

Do you like Pizza? 
Yes, I do | Yes, I like Pizza
No, I don't | No, I don't like Pizza

Does he speak English?
Yes, he does | Yes, he speak English
No, he doesn't | No, he doesn't speak English

I usually go to bed early
Sometimes, I eat breakfast late
I like Pizza
He speaks German
She often studies English
